We need at least 10 people to walk and this will be in May 2009. The time will be from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm. This is to support the American cancer society. Today they are holding a kick off in Dillwyn at the school. If we make a donation of 350.00 we get our name on our t-shirts that will be worn at the walk. We also would like to raise some additional founds for the cancer society. We all know someone who has had cancer and this is going to a good cause. Jack and Buddy went to then chamber meeting in Dillwyn and there was a gentleman there who is working to build a park in Dillwyn. It is called Ellis Acres Memorial Park. This park will be built in phases, as funds are available. We would like to do a demonstration and sell concentrates to help support the building of the park. We would donate any profit that we make that day to the park fund. This will help us as well as help a good cause in the county. Buckingham Christmas Parade will be December 20, 2008. We have agreed to participate in this event and need people to sign up and help. It will not last long, and you probably only need to work 2 hours. The theme is a family Christmas. We can't throw candy, so we will use gold pan and walk beside the wagon and hand out candy to the children. This parade is a memorial to the late Mayor Ranson. We will hold meeting in January and February 2009. This was put before the members and voted on. If there is bad weather the meeting may be canceled. Contact one of the officers if any questions. We have stickers with the CVGP logo on them. We want everyone to look at them and give your input as the design and size. The final one will be for review at the next meeting. This will go on the inside of your window. CCPO is having a raffle to help support the cost and upkeep of the land at Contrary Creek.
