MEETING LOCATION: The next meeting will be at claim #1 in Dillwyn September 27,2008 at 10:00.=2 0We are going to the last weekend due to Field Days of the past. Rules: No Open Fires! If you use a grill be sure your ashes are out and take them with you. If you smoke take your cigarette buts out. Do not throw on the ground and be sure the ashes are out. We can't risk the chance of any fire starting and causing damage to the properties we lease. We would like to recognize the following members for their help. Catherine and Sam for helping with the explorers. This was done in Charlottesville at McIntyre Park. Also Doug Jones and Buddy Albert for their assistance. We also did Louisa County Ag Fair. WE had the following members work Buddy Albert, Jack Wyatt, Sam Seay, and Lynne Shaw. They worked Friday and Saturday. Saturday David Shaw, Robin and Luke Adair, Butch and his daughter Kyleen. Thank you for your help. Dredging properties: #2,5,6,7. Non-Dredging properties are 1,3,and 4. You can use 12 or 24 volt electric on 1,3,and 4. You can have generators on the properties but at your campsite only. We have our land lease and part of the lease is that we make 20% of our land a year. This is to be completed in 5 years. We will schedule a workday this fall. Field Days of the Past: This is scheduled for September 19,20 and 21. Here is the link for the show (http://www.fielddayofthepast.net/). We need volunteers for the show. The cut off date is the next 2 weeks, to be able to obtain tickets. Any question contact Lynne Shaw for more information. In October we will hold the election of officers. The current officers are Jack Wyatt president. Buddy Albert vice president, Robin Adair treasurer and Lynne Shaw secretary and Sam Seay as claims director. Nugget Raffle: We raffle a nugget every year to raise funds to help offset the club expenses. We also give a prize nugget ¼ oz to the one who sells the most tickets, and also to the 2nd and 3rd place for selling tickets. Please have all money and or tickets in to Lynne Shaw by the 2nd week of October. Land Lease: We have 7 claims that we lease. As of the new lease year we added an additional 3 ½ miles to claim #6. This goes to within a ½ mile of the bridge. As a reminder please try to pay up your land fees by October. If you have a problem we will work with you. Also some clarification on the use of the land during hunting season. Our lease states that during Deer season that we can only use the following claims 1,2,5,and 6 on Sundays only. For claims #4 and #7 we can use 7 days a week. Please wear Blaze Orange when you go out and also on Sundays. You never know where a hunter might show up, even on Sundays. If you have any problems contact one of the officers Visitors: Please have them sign the waiver, this is for insurance. Also there is a $10.00 fee per family per weekend Miners Safety Class: We are working on details those i nterested let Lynne or Jack know. We will find out how many people we need and cost. Steve Martin (Sanman) has brought his homemade Shaker Table for a demo today and also Jack Wyatt has brought his homemade creek simulator. Please stay and check it out.
